Reboot Panoply

Since I have been blagging so much, and since I feel this particular blog is a testament of my days, I have decided to reopen the Platter for intermittent business.

Firstly, a treatise on a practice which I have had ingrained in me. Using two spaces after a period. I can't tell you enough how hard it is to stop myself. I hope my brood will use just one space. Evolve!

Secondly, an article about the first time the military has been called out to break a strike in over 4 decades. Common Dreams is usually pretty propoganda-y but in this case I demure to their rhetoric on this matter. LINK

Thirdly, a wiki about an interesting UFO incident. LINK

Fourthly, the invention of the heterosexual. An interview with the author of "Straight" and some good insights about the whole shebang. LINK

Lastly, the Gandhi essay that made me take another look at his life. I will definitely have to read a good biography of him now. LINK

The Gandhi essay was really good Nook reading.

Christopher Hitchens writes about Gandhi in a book review. LINK

Also, I switched to the one space thing when I started Drexel. I had a professor who was really serious about it. Now it really bothers me to get emails or read things with two spaces. It's odd how easy it is to notice something so small after it's been pointed out.
